Most “best iPhone cleaner app” posts miss one thing. Your iPhone does not have a Windows-style junk cleaner problem. It usually has a Photos, Messages, Downloads, or app cache problem.
I agree with @mikeappsreviewer on one part. Clever Cleaner is one of the few free iPhone cleaner apps worth trying, mostly because it helps you sort and delete space hogs without forcing a sub right away. If you want a free iPhone storage cleaner app, start there.
Where I slightly disagree, speed issues are often not from “junk files.” They’re from iPhone storage being near full, like under 5 to 10 GB free, or iOS indexing in the background after updates. A cleaner app won’t fix all of tht.
Do these 3 checks too:
- Settings, General, iPhone Storage. Look for Messages, Photos, Safari, and large apps.
- Safari, clear website data. Mine was over 1 GB once, no joke.
- Messages, review big attachments. Old videos in chats eat space fast.
